Small East African Meat Goat
Special Characteristics: 
Relatively small body size with body weights of 35 kg for males and 31kg for females; both sexes mostly horned; ears are short to medium in length and pricked forward and upward; males and some females are bearded; males have a mane along the length of the neck; coat colour is generally black, which is selected, but other colours also occur; coat hair is short and fine (Wilson, 1991).
Main Location: 
Mainly found in the former Kingdom of Buganda in the Mubende district of west-central Uganda and in Masaka district to the south but also elsewhere in higher rainfall areas of Uganda north and west of Lake Victoria; the climate is subhumid highland with bimodal or prolonged uni-modal rainfall pattern; the management system is agro-pastoral(Wilson, 1991).
