Special Characteristics: 
Relatively small in size (50 to 60 cm height and 30 kg); both sexes are horned; ears are short to medium in length and are pricked; coat colour is black or grey; the hair is long, especially on hindquarters (Wilson, 1991).
Main Location: 
Distributed in southwest Uganda and neighbouring areas of Zaire (DR Congo) and Rwanda; the climate is warm and hot in the semi-arid lowlands, but cool subhumid in the mountainous uplands; the management system is agro-pastoral or agricultural (Wilson, 1991).
